Hi everyone! I am working on a best practice guide for using the Marketo Insights plugin for Google Chrome so that our sales reps can track activity in MKTO through their Gmail. In my overview of the Marketo documents for email sync, I found a note that said the following:
If you send an email to someone who doesn't exist in your Marketo instance, a Lead Record will automatically be created for them. Their last name will always be 'mktUnknown' so that you can easily find them.
Does this rule also apply for tracking in Gmail? If so, I want to make sure our reps are aware that leads should be uploaded before email communication begins to avoid the problem of data with incorrect naming/classifications.
