We currently have a complicated double opt in process within Marketo for our German contacts which includes several smart campaigns. Just wondering whether anyone has a more simplistic process?

Once people have competed a form they receive a confirmation email with a link they have to click to get to the asset, they then will receive another email to confirm they are happy to opt in. Finally they will receive a third email with all the information that we hold for them. This is all triggered with various different smart lists and smart campaigns.
The process does require different assets (think the double opt-in email, and the confirmation LP) and several campaigns. What we like to do is have one program for email compliance and have that house the implicit, explicit, and double opt-in functionality. The program is usually built with a custom channel to have program statuses that mimic the opt-in level of the lead. But long story short, the process does require multiple campaigns usually as you mention.
