When someone fills out & submits a form, where is that data sent to/stored? I'm sure the answer to this is very basic, I'm new to Marketo and still learning the ropes.
Yes, that is quite basic! Form data is posted to the lead database; the fields you select in the Form Editor are filled in with values according to the blocking rules in Admin > Field Management (by default, every subsequent form post updates the stored value).
Was there something else you were imagining?
Thank you! That's all I needed!
Sanford is spot on. Sometimes when I have to explain this to internal stakeholders I say 'imagine every person when they register a file is created for that person. Then every time they fill out a form the file is updated. Like Sanford advised you can go into that file and add new places to store extra data and then reference these as fields in a form.
To extend upon this... when you are creating campaigns you can then leverage these data points as filters and triggers to build your automated workflows.
Welcome to the world of Marketo its a lot of fun.
Thanks! I like the file analogy!
