Hello - I am wondering if anyone has actually used this method to connect Marketo and Google Analytics? I am looking for a way to get lead score values from Marketo into Google Analytics for known leads. Would this be possible using the integration process described in this document? Are there consultants who know how to implement this?
Sara Habecker I would reach out to Stephane Hamel directly for the Google Analytics expertise.
Sara Habecker yes, the method described in this document would allow you to send back lead score into GA for specific users. Keep it mind this is quite technical and there might be some further adjustments required to answer your specific requirements.
Great content! and smart solution
thanks for sharing
HI all and Stephane Hamel, this looks very cool and am keen to try this. However, instead of embedding the modified code for the form on our website, I want to use this in our guided landing pages. As I don't have the option to embed a form in guided landing pages, is there any other way this can be done?
Yes Anissa Brach - as long as there's a form that sends data to Marketo, the same concept should work fine. And don't forget you can use Webhooks at various steps of your process to send data back into Google Analytics. Of course, all of this can get pretty technical as you have to master all of Marketo forms, API, Webhooks, Google Analytics measurement protocol and overall best practices is measurement.
Thanks, Stephane. I will chat to our GA expert to see if he can help.
HI Stephane, I am excited about this guide to google analytics integration. I am most of the way through it but had a question. In step 4 on page 5 it states to modify the form initialization script to automatically populate the ga.cid hidden field. Where would you do this? On the landing page? on the form? I looked for information on how to do this online but there is nobody talking about it. Your help would be awesome. Thanks.
My mistake was using two Java Scripts in one form. I like this document because it embeds it within the form.
Problem is that the JS code in this document has a giant race condition that will cause you to lose hits. You must use the Google hitCallback and eventCallback features if you want to be successful at this.
Hi Sanford, what would you recommend the modifications look like to the JS to eliminate the race condition?
