MUG Leader Responsibilities

The job of the User Group leader is to plan and facilitate the Marketo User Group meetings for your city on a quarterly basis (minimum). The leader is the main point of contact between your peers in your city and Marketo. You will be made the owner of your own group in the Marketing Nation Community. Have fun with it, make it your own!

Here is what being an owner of a group entails:

  • Make the group successful by keeping users engaged and informed. Drive conversation, share meeting dates and materials, and enlist participation.
  • Create and share your meeting information with the group
  • If you were a Leader in 2014: this will take the place of all actions done in Marketo previously
  • Membership is controlled by the owner through self-selection or invitations.
  • Any member of community can join the group to contribute. All content is viewable without joining.

Getting Partners to Sponsor (only for regional leaders)

To make planning and having meetings easier, we have a Partner Sponsorship Program. To learn more about what is required of the Partners, read our Partner Guidelines when Sponsoring a MUG.

As the leader, you will receive a triggered Marketo email each time a Partner fills out their interest form, and it will contain all their contact information so you can start coordinating! We ask that you please acknowledge you received the form, and let the partner know if you have any meetings planned or if you aren't interested at this time. Please note that this program is based on demand and there may not be partners in your area. In this case we recommend customers host meetings.
